Every piece of sushi was expertly made, and its quality was comparable to that of sushi from Japan. The chef's inventiveness is also evident in the innovative sushi that was served with the meal.
Delicious. The fish was fresh, the server was really pleasant and the chef's attention to detail was incredible. The rice was also good quality, as was the genmaicha. The restaurant was also a very relaxed vibe, a chill spot for a lovely dinner that wasn't crowded or loud from people or music. Absolutely go back for more!
Phenomenal, really just phenomenal. Very solid execution on a delicious omakase menu that dabbles in creative pieces, but really drives home standard sushi. From uni with truffle foam to fatty tuna and foie gras, and everything in between. All at a fairly reasonable price for the quality and presentation.
I had the omakase sushi dinner here and it was delicious and amazing. It’s very filling. 15 pieces and a hand roll for $92 and you get very high quality fish. It’s very good value for delicious food. Just as good as Tokyo.
Sushi Dojo is a top restaurant and bar in East Village, New York City. We serve some of the city's best authentic Japanese cuisine with wide and unique choices of fish and crustaceans. Our menu changes seasonally to provide the best and freshest ingredients.
With an intimate 16 seat counter bar, we break the boundaries between chef and patron, which is the traditional way of serving sushi in Japan and is truly unique in New York. This intimate interaction is crucial in our restaurant.
Dojo means a place to study and train, therefore, our philosophy is to educate our clientele about Japanese cuisine and culture. Sushi connoisseurs will also be able to enjoy by engaging themselves into conversation with the sushi chef and share their knowledge with each other.
